EU Ecolabel

Celebrating 30 years of sustainable products!

This year we are celebrating 30 years of the EU Ecolabel, now bringing the label closer to consumers, businesses and retailers than ever before.

Established in 1992 and recognised across Europe, the EU Ecolabel certifies products and services with a guaranteed low environmental impact. EU Ecolabel prioritises circularity by measuring the environmental impact at each stage of a products lifecycle and encouraging companies to develop innovative products that are durable, easy to repair and recyclable.

Arctik are assisting DG Environment on two contracts for the EU Ecolabel, the EU Ecolabel Helpdesk and Stakeholder Communication Activities. For the EU Ecolabel Helpdesk, we are revamping the EU Ecolabel website and creating content such as success stories, articles and running the EU Ecolabel LinkedIn account. The Stakeholder Communication Activities aims at providing the EU Ecolabel with a Strategic Multi-Annual Communication Work Plan covering the next 5 five years. This work plan will provide a platform for all stakeholders to communicate their EU Ecolabel promotions and activities.

Additionally, this year the EU Ecolabel is celebrating its 30th anniversary! With over 80 000 products and services currently awarded, we want to celebrate the sustainable lifestyle the EU Ecolabel brings to consumers, businesses and retailers. We aim to reinforce its communications and impacts using this key date to create momentum.

The celebration activities will be launched in May 2022 by bringing the ‘EU Ecolabel Showroom’ back to life, but this time… on wheels! From the launch at EU Green Week in Brussels, the Showroom on Wheels will showcase EU Ecolabel products and services across the EU throughout the summer and autumn until it returns to Brussels for the World Ecolabel Day on the 13th of October.

Additionally, there will be activities taking place across the EU on local levels to highlight achievements of the EU Ecolabel and reinforce the bond between consumers, businesses, and retailers.
