Projects funded under the EU’s Horizon science funding schemes all require a final closing event. But often these final events run the risk of becoming an afterthought, with a low turnout and little added value. For the Climate-fit.city project, Arctik set itself the mission to not let this happen.

The Climate-fit.city project used data to help public and private actors mitigate climate risks in urban areas. Instead of organising a final event just for this project, Arctik reached out to other Horizon projects dealing with climate change. This increased the impact of the event and gave scientists and urban actors the platform they deserve. Pooling resources from the different projects, Arctik organised a joint two-day conference in Brussels. We led the entire organisation and logistics of the event and moderated key sessions. The conference offered interventions from leading scientists, city and EU representatives.
